Florida uses a mandatory statutory warning
A qualifying lienor generally serves the owner before beginning or no later than 45 days after beginning to furnish labor, services, or materials. Lower-tier claimants may also need to serve the contractor or subcontractor. The notice is not itself a lien.
Washington measures the protected reach
Washington's notice identifies professional services, materials, or equipment supplied to the improvement. The general 60-day period and the shorter reach for new single-family construction require the correct project classification.
Alabama has a pre-supply path for material suppliers
A material supplier seeking the full-price protection described by Alabama law gives written notice before furnishing. Other remote claimants use a different notice before filing a verified lien statement.
